I thought about this a lot when I wrote this piece last year — sometimes efforts that represented a more inclusive process 10 or 15 years ago now look regressive as we've learned how to do better. So it has to be about continuous evolution & iteration. medium.com/make-better-so…
Whiteboard interview questions in tech interviews are a good example. We don't do them, but people still *think* we do them because our company got a lot of attention for the idea in 2004 or something, and the new, better systems are more nuanced but harder to tell a story about.
