1 So who researched and wrote the core parts of the dossier?
It looks like it was a team effort.
Most of the textual evidence points to Glenn Simpson and his wife Mary Jacoby as the architects of the dossier framework.

2 This can be gleaned from Jacoby’s June 24, 2017 Facebook posting (promptly deleted w/most of her SM activity after the project derailed) where she brags abt her husband’s leading role in its composition and vents her frustration abt Steele monopolizing the limelight.

3 When it comes to the research, promo & distribution work, the linkage shows that a fair amnt of ‘staging’ activity tk place in

4 Its interesting that many of Robert Otto’s “Russia Workgroup” pen pals include the same 🇦🇺Australian and 🇬🇧UK diplomatic and 🕵️‍♂️IC actors that by July 2016 aggressively promote the dossier and vouch for its authenticity.

5 The same type of staging & delivery took place in the 🇺🇸US through the State department sources like Robert Otto & the political & PR work of Alexandra Chalupa, Natalie Budaeva, & Ilya Zaslavskiy & their 🇺🇦pro-Ukraine 🇷🇺‘Free Russia Foundation’ NGOs.

6 Its notable that a lot of this activity dates to 1st wk of April-May 2016, almost 8 wks BEFORE Steele’s official June 2016 contract w/Fusion GPS.

7 This strongly suggests that there was a proto-dossier in place & a wider coordinated effrt btwn🇺🇸US &🇬🇧UK teams w/'Orbis Business Intelligence' likely acting as a front for 'Hakluyt & Co.'

9 In this email titled “the fried document” dtd May 1 2016 Otto comments on some of the bldg blocks of the future dossier incl how effective or damaging various claims would be.

"It’s not clear that Aven/Fridman’s invstmnts in Ukraine are in line w/Kremlin policy. Alfa is a bank; banks issue loans. So what’s the big deal w/its loans to UVZ? ...

11 "... It’s a loss making enterprise &Alfa has threatened bankruptcy proceedings over non-payment. I fail t see how that’s at the Kremlin request. ....

Not a 1 is abt Alfa laundering Magnitskiy money, let alone a central role.
Why repeat something so easily check-able?
Was it some sort of Alfa subsidiary?
If so, name it.

14 Some of the money may have went through Alfa, but that’s not what went public. (tidbit: 1 of the folks exposing Shuvalov is Natalya Pelevin that same who shared Kasyanov’s bed & chatted abt an anti-Navalnyy front)

15 …A very serious allegation that requires investigation…We have former Alfa fellows working in the building.

16 Otto’s comment that “We have former Alfa fellows working in the building” also suggests that other active State Department Intelligence resources were privy to these conversations.

17 Ilya Zaslavskiy’s early 2016 activity in the UK also shows some of the @realDonaldTrump dossier themes such as the business relationship w/the “Alfa-Bank” in several of his anti-Russian Oligarch campaigns.

18 Nellie Ohr & Baumgartner’s roles were likely to research specific Russian content & re-write the narrative in ‘Russian style’ in order to make it appear authentic.

The ‘hard’ intel came from British & Ukrainian srcs who likely also provided some of the juicy gossip.

19 Nellie Ohr utilized DOJ (her husband Bruce Ohr was The # 4 at DOJ) and Obama Admin's State Department documents that pertained to Russian organized crime, cybersecurity, corruption, & opportunistically incorporated them into the dossier briefs.

20 This careful mixture of partial truth & mostly fiction explns all of the tidbits of info in the reprt that are marginally plausible & give the dossier a 1rst-person witness quality & a thin veneer of credibility.

21. Glen Simpson (Fusion GPS) alludes to this when he said in the testimony:
"We –u know, they [Steeles netwrk of resrcs] id'd -1memo id'd a Russian guy who worked 4an NGO called Rossotrudnichestvo, which is –u know, I didn’t know it at the time, ..

22 "..but I was able to learn fr looking at it that the FBI considers that to be a front for the SVR."
"So, u know, either the ppl were extremely knowledgeable abt a lot of obscure intel stuff or, u know, they –what they’re saying had some credibility."

23. When it comes to the bulk of the literary work, Simpson, Jacoby, Baumgartner & Ohr authored it & Steele-if he did ANY actual writing-just formatted the reprts in order 2tag them w/his 'scent'& make them look spyish by using terms like “Source X” & redacting some phrases.

24. Nellie Ohr’s, Shailagh Murray, & Mary Jacoby also played a 2ndry organizational role & acted as the liaisons btwn the FusionGPS team, State Dept, DOJ, &the Obama White House, & possibly as a cut-outs to other agencies.

25. Any1 who ever wrkd in intel knws a good brief WILL answer the
who, what, when, where, how, & why questions.
Almost NONE of the allegations in dossier offer corroboration.

26. Its based on generalizations, truisms & a lot of materials that have been circulating on internet & Ukrainian circles since mid-2000s.

27. The writers of dossier anticipated this criticism & countered it by bldg-in "plausible deniability" for most of the allegations through statements like:

“but key witnesses were silenced & evidence hard to obtain”
or
“all direct witnesses to this had been “silenced”…”

28. It seems that the real dossier story is NOT the scandalous insinuations that it makes, but rather it’s
💰💰💰the funding sources
🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♂️the teams that worked on it
&
🏦🏛️🏰its compilation & distribution channels.

29. At peak capacity, the dossier team must have consisted of AT LEAST 25 individuals who worked on it for over 6-12 months.

30. Assuming a modest $200hr rate per person, some 1st class travel & accommodations, media, consulting, IT, legal services, this project most have cost an upwards of $5,000,000-10,000,000 million dollars.

31. According to Glen Simpson’s testimony & documents, Fusion GPS was only paid about 1,000,000 million dollars by the DNC & Hillary Clinton campaign, which begs the questions of what was Hakluyt’s cut ($) and where did the rest of the money go?

33. Simpson &Steele did FAR MORE than simply conduct oppo resrch for Clinton. By various machinations, they successfully reached the most influential ppl in 🇬🇧UK & 🇺🇸US politics, the media, & federal govt agencies & shaped/influenced the narrative of 2016 elections.

34. There is little doubt that Simpson/Jacoby & their US political/media network & Steele w/his enablers in Hakluyt, the British media, &the Foreign Office successfully waged a full-scale INFLUENCE operation against the US; @realDonaldTrump & are continuing to do so even now.

35. In the end, this modern version of the “Black Hand Society” failed to deliver the goods & as the Elections of 2016 came to an end, Baumgartner posted this tweet:
