As ambassador you spent 2011 driving around Syria encouraging every sectarian psycho you met that they should grab their AKs and fight the Syrian Army. You helped start this war.

But yeah, sure, we should all listen to what you have to say.
If you’re not familiar with Robert Ford’s role in starting this hellish sectarian war in Syria, read this piece by @TheWarNerd alternet.org/grayzone-proje…
"Ford’s 'strong support for the Syrian uprising' involved, according to ex-CIA guy Michael Scheuer, 'running around the country trying to encourage groups to overthrow the Syrian government.'"
"Because the job, for Ford, is regime change in Syria. And even after he was forced out of Syria, he’s worked earnestly toward that goal… Ford’s distinguished profile has made him cover boy of the Middle East Institute, a big, Saudi-funded lobbying group in DC."
Here's Robert Ford doing his best to whitewash Ahrar al-Sham in a piece he wrote in 2015 called "Yes, Talk with Syria’s Ahrar al-Sham." I especially love the phrase "Ahrar takes a more nuanced stance" he used to describe their brand of salafism
"It's fighters APPEAR to have been involved in extrajudicial killing of Alawi civilians… and there are ACCUSATIONS that it desecrated Christian sites in Kasab in 2014." [Emphasis mine]

Love the way Ford tries to cast doubt on Ahrar's well-documented history of sectarian murder
Some more choice paragraphs from Robert Ford's attempt to make Ahrar al-Sham look presentable: Look guys, Ahrar al-Sham works with moderates too, like uhhhh Muslim Brotherhood affiliates, see it's totally not the same ideology as Nusra I promise!
