1) I'm not afraid of November.
2) Media wants me to be afraid. They want to throw out polls like a 60% disapproval rating for Trump. They want me to think Trump's legendary negotiation skills are failing because they broke every journalistic principle they had to leak off the record comments.
3) Polls want me to think that the GOP incumbent in my district is doomed because some far left progressive won the Dem primary, despite the fact that the GOP incumbent has won his past 2 elections by 20%. Yeah, that ain't happening.
4) Let me tell you about a little known piece of election history.

The Meltdown.
5) No, not The Meltdown you were thinking of. But close.

See, here's what the media was doing late 2016 to people in the middle who were paying attention to them.
6) Scott Adams has talked about it; it is the technique of selling PAST the sale. If you want to sell someone on an idea, sell them on the idea as if its already happened, not the idea itself.
7) The context this was brought up with is the Wall. Trump sold it to people by selling them on the image of a big wall that kept getting 10 feet higher every time Mexico told Trump to fuck off. He didn't say we should build a wall, but what form it would take.
8) So what clever thing was the media doing for persuasion? They weren't selling people on the idea of Trump losing. No, they were trying to convince people of what would happen after Trump lost. time.com/4528598/donald…
9) The Meltdown.
10) But that's still not The Meltdown I'm talking about. Oh no. This is just background, setting the scene, so to speak.

See, the media was bombarding, well, Normies is a good word for it, they were bombarding Normies with the idea that Trump voters would RIOT when he lost.
11) Not if, WHEN. That it would be a meltdown of epic proportions. That it would be the end of the fucking world for them. Pitchforks and guns and torches galore. Hell, they were HOPING it would happen. They WANTED more mass shooters to push their anti-gun narratives!
12) And so, a deep in the bowels of reddit, a new subreddit was formed. /r/the_meltdown
13) Before the election, it served as the echo chamber of people convincing each other that when, not if, Trump lost, the meltdown would be EPIC. And I was convinced. As I've stated before, I went to bed thinking that Trump was going to lose, that Hillary would be president.
14) I was also doing a LOT of research into those Free Cities that were being talked about as libertarian paradises I could flee to. I didn't WANT Hillary to win, keep in mind.
15) But... I woke up the next morning, and found out at noon after having avoided the internet for the first couple hours.... Trump had won. The world no longer made sense to me. I bought a gameboy and a pokemon game, specifically to return to a time when the world did make sense
16) The_Meltdown ended up serving its purpose... and it catalogued the most epic nationwide meltdown to have ever been witnessed. reddit.com/r/the_meltdown…
17) The mods abandoned the subreddit, The Liberal Meltdown was laid bare for all to see, and for normies like me who had been tricked into a mental prison, it was like someone just blew the walls out with dynamite to say there was a party happening next door and I was invited.
18) Fast forward a year and a half, to today.
19) The methodology of the polls still haven't changed. Oversampling Dems. Registered instead of likely voters. Faux gaffs of GOP candidates hyped by the media shown to be bullshit with literally 2 minutes of research.
20) I'm watching the exact same pattern playing out. Watch. In October, the left will start talking about how the right will meltdown when the Dems retake the house and start impeachment proceedings.
21) When that happens? When they will have literally followed their exact same playbook step by fucking step all the way to trying to sell us on the idea what will happen when Dems win, and not IF Dems win?
22) Then you can take whatever fear you have, and toss it off of a goddamn bridge.
/end
