If you attend after hours reviews it’s ~1500 hours of study; 3.9x the length of most code bootcamps
If you include the required precourse work and Lambda Next (our post-grad program), a lot of Lambda School students have been shipping code every day for over a year by the time you see their application

A lot of talk about Lambda School today, and most of it I'll ignore.

One I'm going to respond to - that Lambda School is "creaming" - removing the best students from other schools and locking them into ISAs.

This is a tweetstorm full of student stories, so buckle up.
J is a single father, high school dropout with two kids (1.6 GPA), had been working in a warehouse for four years. We noticed in our intro courses he was doing well at programming, and decided to invest.

He attended Lambda, now makes software for warehouses, making $80k+/yr
S had to drop out of school when she couldn't afford the payments on her archaeology degree. She was living in a car when she applied to Lambda School.

She was also hired at an $80k rate.

There are more than 10x the students starting Lambda School today as 18 months ago.

NPS is higher across the board, student skill is higher across the board, and it goes off without a hitch.

Hats off to the Lambda growth, admissions and student success teams.
NPS schoolwide for Lambda School is in the high 60s. We're working on getting it to the mid/high 70s right now.

What is the goal of your models? Interpretability is important, but not the only thing. Other measures exist, but understanding your model is important to prevent outcomes, override recommendations, and to connect models to other systems - or stacks of models & systems. #ODSCWest

1/ Urbit is attempting a full-fledged operating system and peer-to-peer networking protocol to upgrade both modern computing and the web.

2/ Urbit aims to eventually replace Mac OS, Windows, etc. It’s currently a cross-platform executable that runs within Linux, Windows, or Mac. The project has been in development since 2002.

3/ Both Urbit and Inrupt aim to give users the ability to own and control their own data, instead of user data being owned and controlled by large corporations like Facebook and Google.
