I mean, they wanted it to be today - because that puts the end of the 3 days required between a hearing and a vote smack dab on the same day as the Hastert hearing... so Kav would have been in before anyone was able to get anything into the public record / media...
But as it stands, the hearing on Monday -> they aren't ready for a vote until Thursday, which is kind of risky - but given the limited coverage this trial has been receiving, it might be a couple of days for anything interesting that happens to make it into the national media...

So. A Thursday vote might be their last chance, given the link between Hastert, Kavanaugh, SMARTech, and everything that falls out of that mess.

Still. I don't think this story will stop, even then... because there really is no other option for Trump but to keep nominating those who are controllable through compromise - and SMARTech is the easiest route to that.
