Monday January 15th: A woman and her three children are killed by her HUSBAND before he committed suicide by torching himself, and the house. Waithithe area in Juja, Kiambu County.
Sunday February 18: A naked body of Rose Kemunto, 30 year old mother of two is found in a vacant semi permanent house near an SDA church in Riang'ombenene village, i
Kisii. She left home the previous day, never to return. She was raped and killed.

February 28, Suswa, Nakuru. 26 year old Jane Njoki and her 5 year old daughter Shantel Nyambura shot and killed in cold blood by Jane's HUSBAND one Cosmas Biwott Kipchumba - an Anti Stock Theft police officer attached to Subukia Police camp.
Sunday March 11: NINE year old girl Shirlyne Mwanzia goes missing from her home at Scheme estate in Kakamega. Her body is found a week later on March 16th, having been murdered and dumped in a water tank. She was allegedly lured by a stranger while playing with her brothers.
Sunday May 6th: Ann Gathoni, 35 and her three children brutally murdered by her EX-HUSBAND in Marurui, Roysambu. The suspect, who had abandoned his family several years ago was only identified as Maina.
In the MONTH OF JUNE 2018 alone: Five cases of rape/defilement and murder were reported in Murang'a County as follows:
Kamatumbi village, Mathioya: 5year old girl was defiled, killed and her body dumped in a bush (on Thursday June 14th) a day after her grand mother reported her missing on her from school. Her private parts were badly mutilated.
Sunday June 17th, a 73 year old woman Jedida Wambui Muthengi was raped and killed in Kigoro village, Maragua Ridge. She lived alone, selling wares at a local market. According to neighbors, she would occasionally spent time drinking beer before going home by 9pm.
In probably one of the saddest of these stories; Gatanga, body of a 3 year old baby Mercy Njoki who went missing for 11 days was found in a water dam after being defiled and her eyes gouged out. Her finger nails were plucked out and her head partly shaved.
In Kigumo: A 9 year old girl was found in a maize farm in Muthithi village on Thursday June 7th after being reported missing 2 days earlier. She was defiled, strangled and had knife injuries on her thighs and hands. A bloody knife was found on her body.
The Kigumo incident was barely a month after two minors aged 6 and 4 from Ichichi village Kangema were also defiled and murdered by a 14YO boy and 40YO man respectively. The teenage boy was later lynched by residents and the man charged in court.
ELSEWHERE, on Monday 2nd July: In Baringo, Esther Chepkorir's 5 year old daughter is defiled and killed by a man known to the family and village. Esther caught him red handed but he escape after trying to strangled her. No idea if he was ever apprehended.
Tuesday September 4th university student Sharon Otieno's body is found after kidnapping. Story is stii too fresh. She was pregnant for Governor Zachariah Obado. Suspects awaiting court rulings and judgement.
Maribel Kapolon daughter of Meru Senior Resident Magistrate - a 9year old class 4 pupil goes missing on September 6 and found on Saturday September 8th. Tortured and killed. She was picked by a MAN KNOWN TO HER. Witnesses say she ran into his car while calling him "uncle."
The night of Sun Sep 23rd. 17YO KCSE candidate Alvina Moracha was lured out of her mother's house by her former BOYFRIEND (a boda boda rider) while she was studying. Her body was found in nearby fish pond the following day. The victim's sister said the suspect had threatened her.
Friday September 21st: Body of 28 year old Monica Nyawira Kimani, found in a bathtub in Kilimani. Her throat slit, hands tied from behind an indication that she was tortured before the murder. Tuesday September 25th, suspect Joseph Irungu, arrested for the murder.
GENTLEMEN, the truth men have equally been victims of such killings, assault and violence either by women or fellow men. The truth also is, WE NEED TO SIT DOWN AND REFLECT seriously on this problem and on our role as in ending this. Our women MUST BE SAFE around us. No debate!
Today Thursday 27th September on @ntvkenya: Suspect Barbas Kosgey being held by police after he brutally killed his 5 month pregnant WIFE, Stella Jeruto after a domestic argument. Incident happened in Mogotio, Baringo County.
Thursday September 27th: Antoandrew village in Tigania East, Meru County! 55 year old woman killed, head chopped off and stuffed in her handbag. Body found near her home after reported missing on September 17th. Main suspect Mr Peter Murungi Muthinja arrested, to be charged!
