Thoughts on why #LFC ended up dominating the ball despite Chelsea’s usual possession style:
My thread from earlier this week showed the weaknesses of Chelsea that I thought we’d exploit in transition, but we didn’t get much of a chance to.

Liverpool pressed higher than usual to likely exploit a mistake from one of Chelsea’s defenders newly trying to play out.
This high pressing disrupted Chelsea from building any passing sequences or rhythm, and the errors led to Liverpool assuming control of play.
Liverpool weren’t as aggressive or as high vs. Spurs. I’m inclined to think this is because unlike Chelsea, they have more capable defenders, but more error prone midfielders.
Once we’d punished Chelsea’s defenders for a mistake, I think we would’ve then dropped back & countered, as was the case vs. Spurs, but we conceded first.
This allowed Sarri to adopt Klopp’s usual plan with a lead. Remain compact, with pressing from a mid block, and pounce on any errors.
