We joke about our Big Antifa Daddy Soros cuz it's absurd a billionaire would fund a bunch of anarchists. But Trump's mention of "Soros" is less about the actual man, and more a stand-in for the anti-Semitic "globalist" narrative, with it's "JeWz ConTroL tHe WoRLd" bullshit.
Trump's familiarity w/ Soros as anti-Semitic signaling at least started with Sebastian Gorka, his former advisor, who is tied to multiple anti-Semitic Far Right parties in Hungary, and who wears a medal from the Nazi-linked Vitezi Rend group, who were Nazi collaborators.
Another former advisor, Steve Bannon, probably also helped familiarize Trump with Soros. As former executive chairman of Breitbart News, he heavily promoted Soros as some shadowy figure behind liberal projects, an idea seized and promoted by Eastern European Far Right parties.
All this to say the fact that many people believe teachers on strike or protesters against police murders, fascism or rape culture are paid lackeys of a Jewish man, shows how prevalent Far Right ideas are in our fucked-up society & the work that must be done. Tear it all down.
