As a Product Consultant📱💼, I regularly lead new product in industry🏭 I know nothing about , with a non-tech team 👨‍💼

I always start with a workshop 📝

I figured other consultant could benefits from my approach🤔 so here are some slides 🎁

I always start to give some "High-Level" principles. It seems obvious, but it helps settings the direction for the workshop.

Same about the methodology (Lean Startup) and organisation.
Most of my client never thought to work like that.

Then I explain the Design Process👨‍🎨

And no, the design doesn't start with mock-ups 🖼

I ask them more about their company and industry 🏭.

What's their vision, their market, their competitive advantages, their clients.

Most of the times, they know well their industry, but they never put words on their thoughts💬

Which leads me to their identity 🆔

In case of a new company, we try roughly to define who they are🧐, which feeling and image they'd like to convey 🤗

Depending on the client, it can take a few minutes to hours 😅

The value proposition come next💰, so we can know with one phrase what's their service, their key features🎯, their clients 👯‍♂️ and what problems do they solve for them⚙️

Then we focus on customers
This part is less detailled in my slides since the workshop start to be a bit more pratical 💪
With post-it notes to write for each Persona's their goals, needs & frustrations, that we then move on a customer map to understand better their process.

Then we start to imagine the app, with user journey:
- When in the customer journey our business start to interact with them 👋
- What are the actual step to accomplish their goal 🥅

It then allow us to list all features as user stories, and prioritize the backlog for the MVP 🙌
I'll always do all of this without computer in the beginning so I don't have any examples, I'll try to detail all theses steps more later :)
