My latest thinking about tomorrow's elections, and going on the record with my predictions! ndn.org/blog/2018/10/o… One thing that seems very clear now - Trump has been a huge drag on the GOP this cycle. They have a low ceiling everywhere and 42-43 isn't winning.
/Some questions abt 2018 am still thinking about. Why did Trump close with the caravan and not the economy? Did he really ignore all of his advisors? If so, will his mismanagement of the close become a big issue this week? Or he is just a vile racist seeking violence, conflict?
/Was there a backlash to the caravan strategy? Feels like R numbers in heavily Hispanic parts of country got worse in last 10 days - AZ, CA, FL, NV, maybe Texas. Did it really hurt R House candidates in the 'burbs? And what did Trump gain, where did Rs improve, from the caravan?
/Has any major candidate screwed up as bad as Trump by getting a closing ad pulled the day before the election? An ad that was too racist even for Fox? What a sh--burger he just gave all Republicans.
/So yes going all in on the racist, BS caravan narrative was all Trump. cnn.com/2018/11/05/pol… In same weekend a man killed 11 in Pittsburgh inspired in part by false caravan stories the President increased troop levels fr 800 to 5,200, essentially fanning these deadly flames.
