Is Devin Nunes responsible for covering up election interference in 2016?

Nunes, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, has fought at every turn against allowing a thorough Benghazi-style investigation into interference in the 2016 election.
First of all, Nunes has limited the scope of the investigation and shut down hearings before they even got started.

It’s 4 days after the election and most of our votes have been cast and tallied. I rest uneasy, unsure about mine.

Apparently Devin Nunes' staffers threatened to hold Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein in contempt of Congress during a closed-door meeting. Rosenstein responded by reminding them that if they did so, he would be able to call them as witnesses & subpoena their comm's to defend himself. 1/
Devin Nunes' staffers responded to this (entirely reasonable) reminder that Rosenstein, too, has due process rights by spinning a misleading story to Fox News, claiming that Rosenstein had threatened to launch a criminal investigation against them. 2/

1/ Glenn Simpson’s testimony before the the Senate Judiciary Committee on 22 Aug and House Intelligence Committee on 14 Nov of this year provide a clearer timeline of events during the 2016 presidential campaign and some very important and useful insights into the Steele dossier.
2/ As for the timeline: From these two recently published transcripts we learn that Steele’s first contact with the FBI occurred in London on 5 July 2016. Steele’s London contact would almost certainly have been the FBI’s legat or legal attaché there at the time.
