In discussion with a senior Democratic Hill official, the view of the Ivanka emails is that the volume may be different than Clinton's, but the alleged violation of law would very likely be the same from a presidential records act standpoint and if there was classified info sent
The official also points out that, like Ivanka Trump's aides, aides to Clinton initially said she sent no classified information.
The official notes that Dems will follow the normal order, which is sending a letter seeking compliance, on this and other issues as part of oversight "that Republicans have failed to do." The White House has signaled it will likely fight even small-scale requests.
And therein enter the subpoenas. Among the questions House Dems will have for the Trump White House are ones that Clinton faced during campaign, about overlap between private business and government work. Trump and allies repeatedly claimed concern about it in 2016.
Last point the official made: Republicans argued there was little reason to give Clinton benefit of the doubt based on history; after two years of misdirection and lies from the White House, there is no reason to give benefit of doubt here.
