I used to be say quite often that most of us don’t have a money problem we had a management problem.

I have learnt since then.

More and more I am realizing that there is also a large part of society that requires money.

Let the money come, people need it not just to flourish but to survive

A worsening situation is that the Economy has created a condition where a lot of us are in debt.

In such crippling debt that we can’t see ourselves coming out of it.

Against this back drop I want to talk a little bit about money, it’s not necessarily standard church fare but I feel it’s necessary

Money Management reveals our spirituality

You can’t say you are spiritual and not manage your finances properly

I am not here to talk about giving to church/tithing, but just to chip in here that , if you have had an experience with God or you claim to love God, it will be proven in your support of his kingdom

But today I want to talk about debt.

PS this is not shade at anybody

Now listen, anytime Debt comes up there will always be some (let’s call it ) feedback.

Everyone wants to share something, that’s all right

It is my Bible based opinion that debt is not Gods will for our lives

God never intends for you to live your life by debt.

I understand the business side of it.

I also understand that someone will go to the extreme and say one twitter pastor said we should not lend people money again

It is my Bible based opinion also that God wants us to get out of debt and be a blessing to others

So let’s look at some scripture

“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.””
II Kings 4:1 NKJV

Read all the way to Verse 7

This woman was married to a prophet!
Some versions say he was in Seminary, any one, he was sha a spiritual person

Let’s look at him well, he died and didn’t have any plans for his family

He feared the Lord!
But his debt was enough to get his sons into slavery!

I can never get over the irony of telling someone in debt to go and borrow vessels.

If it was me I would be like

There are multiple lessons to be drawn from this story.

You can say a loan can still help you get your breakthrough

You can even say a loan can take you to your ....

But I am digressing... one key learning is that there is often something in your house that can get you out of debt if you follow God’s instruction

A lot of us have some things in our houses we are just keeping, that holds sentimental value to us.

We might need to sell it based on God’s instruction to get out of debt

Being free from debt is better than just keeping some things

If you are struggling with debt this morning I want you to take some time to evaluate, you can pray even, and ask yourself:

What can I sell in my house?
What’s in my house sef?

Here’s another lesson, she was willing to do what the prophet told her to do.

How many of us listen to our Pastors?

And if you are someone who says ‘all these pastors have agendas’

Do you listen to the spirit of God on your inside?

THERES STUFF IN YOUR HOUSE!!!!

Another lesson?
Don’t minimize the value of what you have in your house!!!!

It’s not just oil!

Let’s do one more scripture

Matthew 17:24-27

“Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.””

That’s how Peter and his master paid their taxes

Peter was willing to Obey

The key to living a supernatural life is to follow God’s instructions.

Do what you are told.

Stop being more concerned by how you will look or how you will be seen.

Obey his leading

You might get an instruction that doesn’t make sense or one that does.

Sometimes they are intertwined but you MUST be ready to obey

The part that makes sense was to tell a fisherman to go fish!

Instruction will sometimes involve a thing or a skill you have

Go and do your duty

For some of us, The miracle is on your duty post.

Do the best at your Job, be on time. Excel at your Job and let God’s instruction meet you

Obedience is the Key. Do what God tells you

To Obey is better than any sacrifice
