Please read this. CNN may do the cowardly thing & fire @marclamonthill for Israel comments that are 100% mainstream & acceptable among those who know anything about the debate. In the US, the only permitted position is "2-state solution" even though Israel made this a fairy tale:
Endless expansion of illegal Israeli settlements has made a 2-state solution impossible. This is openly acknowledged in Israel. Only real possibilities are a) 1-state with equal rights or b) apartheid. In the US, admitting this is forbidden, hence the smears on @marclamonthill.
In sum, if it's now a firing offense in the US media to oppose Israeli apartheid - or more accurately: if it's *still a firing offense to do so - that a really terrible sign for free expression and anti-apartheid activism. Just read Israel's own former PM: haaretz.com/israel-news/eh…
CONFIRMED: CNN has cowardly and pitifully fired @marclamonthill for the crime of advocating equal political rights for Palestinians. I'm sure all of the people on the right who object when media outlets fire people for expressing controversial views will join me in defending him.
People who object to the punishment of free political speech only when they agree with the speech being punished are utter and complete frauds.
