Bit of a rant coming I'm afraid.

One of my least favourite anti-patterns are "enterprise" marketing websites that fail completely to answer the question "what does this thing do?"

Today's case in point: @KnativeProject

cloud.google.com/knative/
"Kubernetes-based platform to build, deploy, and manage modern serverless workloads."

OK, we are off to a reasonable start. So what does it actually do?
... OK, so what does it do?
Alright, familiar idioms! But what does it do?
Great, an idiomatic developer experience! But what does it do?
Flexibility and control...
Industry leaders! What does it... do?
Still no idea
Still no idea!
OK, I'll try GitHub.

It looks like it's a work-in-progress build system.
This is a particularly bad example but cloud computing has SO MUCH of this stuff. I've pretty much given up on the expectation that any AWS marketing page will actually tell me what the thing does.

Why is this so hard!?
We need an industry-wide cultural shift around this kind of communication.

How about an "engineering elevator pitch"? How would you explain your enterprise software solution to an engineer with purchasing authority in the time it takes to ride an elevator with them?
Ooh this is interesting: it looks like @KnativeProject is actually something I really want!
