Important that collective value for citizens from data use is realised - @darrenpjones MP addressing the key issue of whether individuals really see value in the way data is used - also highlighting importance of global solutions to these questions. @techUK #AIethics

Interesting comment from @tabithagold on a potential disconnect between 'business' and 'people' view on data privacy/ethical issues. People as biz owners understand importance but do they as members of the general public? Food for thought! @techUK #AIethics

Key issue rightly pointed out by Simon McDougall @ICOnews that sectors which historically haven't had to worry about personal data issues, are now data intensive which causes challenges when discussing and aiming to deal with issues of data, ethics and usage #AIethics @techUK

Can you separate ethical use of data from the size/power of a small number of companies? Big issue and likely to determine how Digital Ethics develops but touches on so many other areas inc competition law #AIethics @techUK

.@techUKdepCEO closing @techUK Digital Ethics Summit by saying material progress does seem to have been made since last years Summit, but also clear we are not there yet and UK is a good place to have a rich conversation about these issues #AIethics

That brings @techUK Digital Ethics Summit to a close! My main takeaways have been the need to involve more people in these conversations, to make the issues around #AIethics more relatable and to continue this important dialogue. All of this crucial to build trust which is key!
