THREAD: Some thoughts on Mattis resignation: I'm a hawk and prefer Mattis' views to Trump; Trump ran on a contrary view & is CIC; I don't know what strategy is & whether achievable; I wish Mattis were still there; I'd wager that 50% criticizing Trump truly disagree w/ Mattis 1/
2/ and wish he were out, except Trump; Mattis did it right, unlike Yates who refused to resign & instead grandstanded to the applause of Mueller's pitbull Weissmann; thankfully French forces are coming in to take over; French coming in will help Trump b/c he'll claim we don't
3/ need to expend our blood & money & that others need to do their fair share; he's not wrong; we will never be able to repay sacrifices of our men and women in the services and their families; what is solution to Syria at this point? No idea, but the fake redline get us here.
