General Buhari was appointed Executive Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund. In my practice as a consultant, PTF was d most efficient and corruption free executive body ever involved in d restoration of public infrastructure. The PTF appointed Supervising Projects Master Consultants.
Through them, consultants were selected for each of d PTF projects by nomination based on d ascertained competence&staffing of d firm of consultants to be awarded a project. Within a short time,d PTF under GMB gained a reputation 4 rapid restoration of roads&other infrastructures
"The PTF was different from anything that we had experienced in our practice as consultants. First we were assigned the project on take or leave it without solicitation. No one took any kickback from us...No.bribery was expected and none was taken from our fees.
It was a refreshn experience unlike wht obtained in d ministries. Contractors wer also paid thru d same clean arrangement. Water project covern d entire country wer going very well.

Upon becomn president, his 1st action was to dissolve PTF. It was a bad action motivated only by revenge. It was a blind & irrational act of revenge. At d time whn OBJ dissolved d PTF Project,so directed by GMB,d rural water supply projects thruout was nearn completn everywhere
3months more, most of d wells would have bn delivering clean water to rural dwellers in thousands of villages throughout Nigeria. But when Obasanjo dissolved d PTF in a blind revenge against Buhari, he provided no course of action to bring d water project to complettion anywhere
The result was that completed boreholes within completion stages everywhere were frozen....Had they been completed the projects would have yielded clean water for millions of Nigerians living in rural areas.
The hope for clean water was dashed. Obasanjo appeared to be driven by revenge and created such collosal waste".
