It's great to see that out of the advice from 24 experts on how to market yourself in 2019, essentially most of them are saying: write articles, content marketing still works

And yet every day I see people writing articles on platforms they don't own - on medium etc. I find this so strange. It's sacrificing your long-term leverage of this content for some short term distribution benefits.
The real winner in that scenario is the platform you're using, which you are indirectly promoting every time you sit down to write. More people should be taking ownership of their content for the long term.
