It's the other side of the coin - females are to remain pure while males are expected to aggressively pursue sex. Both types of shaming target those who exclude themselves from the sexually economy of commodity vs shared experience.
Value is placed on gender adherence to...
...one's assigned role i.e. supply/demand.
Females supply their bodies.
Males demand use of bodies.
Both must maintain reputation in spite of mixed messaging & what they actually want (or DON'T want.)
Yet this system is painted as somehow virtuous.
In doing so, predators are excused from harmful behaviour. Targets are quantified according to gender, perceived level of attraction, ect
Girls don't report assault for fear of disbelief.
Boys fear being labeled homosexual.
Sex offenders are judged & prosecuted differently...
...according to gender & social acceptability.
Men who assault pretty, young girls cuz biology & project the narrative of being welcomed cuz innocent females want experienced males.
Young males are supposed to be thrilled if their statutory rape involves a "hott" woman.
Homophobia often stems from the inability to differentiate sex from assault & sexual orientation from predatory behavior.
When we assign girls as targets & boys as weapons, any deviation from that standard is subject to skewed judgement regardless of consent.
So basically the patriarchal model negates #autonomy for everyone involved. And anyone unwilling to participate in that system undermines the arbitrary values placed on individuals according to their sexual activity (or lack thereof.)
