I propose that we have a similar “Too Big to be Bigoted” philosophy imposed on these same financial institutions.
Recently we have seen a troubling trend where companies such as Master Card would deny service because of someone’s political beliefs.
Recently we have seen a troubling trend where companies such as Master Card would deny service because of someone’s political beliefs.
If you follow this trend and use logical progression, we will find ourselves in a world where you can’t buy or sell unless you agree with the ideology of these massive companies.
This also prevents more open-minded companies from launching direct competition and stifles ingenuity. (Quasi-Monopoly)
I believe information is also a form of currency and social media platforms should adhere to the “Too Big to be Bigoted” philosophy. Modern culture receives the majority of its news online from social media corporations.
By allowing these corporations to silence, throttle, and out right ban people of opposing opinion we are ending debate and entering into very dangerous territory.
This isn't a bakery on the corner or a local newspaper we are talking about. These are the corporations that rule commerce and public opinion. I ask that our law makers find a way to make this philosophy constitutionally viable before it is too late.
