Reminds me of when I was on the road and went to a church in DC and confessed to watching porn and the priest told me not to worry about it because “God wants us to be happy.”
For God to love us, he thought, means abandoning an entire generation of men to loneliness and slavery to the flesh and abandoning countless women to a vast machinery of death. It was the first time I ever felt betrayed by a lack of judgment. This is not liberation.
