Today in gamers: this guy stalks and harasses a Black streamer and then wants cookies for not using slurs. kotaku.com/for-streamers-…
And a reminder that for men who harass women online, ultimately the cruelty is the only point. They have no grand goals (other than, perhaps, driving women out). The only point is to hurt, and even THEY don't believe the stories they come up with as justification.
Nothing they say or do is in good faith. Which is why it's not worth it to engage. All they want is your engagement so they have a chance to hurt you.
Block, and don't engage. Even better, use blocking algorithms or trade "clean-up" services w friends so there's no way for them to reach you, even in the time it takes to block. They want you to see their comments, so make sure you don't.
And yes, I'm aware there's a chance of false positives with blocking algorithms, but generally if there's someone who has a legit reason to want to interact with you, people you follow will tell you.
But for real, having a trusted friend who goes through comments and blocks assholes denies the assholes what they want, and makes your online experience a thousand times more productive. Highly recommend exchanging those services with someone.
