EU27 ambassadors met today. I am told nothing new in terms of EU position. Openness to talk about changes to the political declaration if it helps May, not the withdrawal agreement.
More from yesterday's EU27 ambassadors meeting. The diplomats were told that no deal is becoming more likely. Much of the meeting was dedicated to discussing contingency planning for aviation and road transport
At previous meetings, some member states had aired the possibility of sectoral mini-deals. The EU27 now seem gradually (important details/questions remain, eg codesharing) aligning behind the EU's proposed principles of unilateral measures & basic connectivity (eg cabotage)
EU27 were also told to note that no deal planning was about contingency measures, not a future UK-EU agreement.
