NEW: A new photo's emerged showing Ben Carson with Alexey Komov, a key employee of sanctioned Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev and point-man for building ties with American Christian fundamentalists. thinkprogress.org/why-was-ben-ca…

The photo took place in June 2014, at the National Organization for Marriage gala in D.C.—and is reminiscent of the photos Maria Butina managed to snag with other 2016 GOP presidential contenders.
The photo is Komov's highest-profile American meet—and his only meeting (that we know of) with someone who's now in Trump's cabinet. thinkprogress.org/why-was-ben-ca…

Or put another way: Carson was scheduled to speak by a group that’s received funding from multiple organizations overseen by Russian oligarchs... who’ve been sanctioned by the same administration Carson works for. 🥳
