1/4 This is huge!! As far as I know, the UE has issued the FIRST Rapid Alert (#RAPEX) for dangerous products that may be related to data protection and #Privacy.
This drive me crazy: the product is a smartwatch for MONITORING KIDS (#ENOX SAFE KID ONE with GSM and GPS integrated)
2/4 Now the #smartwatch must be recalled from end users! The App, the server and the watch has no security in data transmission. The risk is very high due to young users… I hope that this will be notified to #DPA too for #GDPR enforcement.
3/4 I’m very happy to see #dangerous #products withdrawn from the market due to lack of data protection. It is the very first time. I hope that the monitoring system will keep on focusing on data protection. ec.europa.eu/consumers/cons…

On the box there is a warning: DUST and WATER RESISTANT... but what about data potection and #GDPR? @PrivacyMatters @lukOlejnik @MissIG_Geek @PrivacyPros

The CSO in Ireland isn't on a solo run in relation to seeking data from phone operators and other privately held sources. EU statisticians want all of it - credit card spending, smart meters, social media data, reservation systems data...all of it. Is this necessary?

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers

If we take into account the amount we spen don AADHAAR and the amount various irganisations are still spending and the charges for each and evey verification process at retail stage, the profit will be negative. (7/n)
Having seen that #Aadhaar is not feasible technologically or economically. We will move to Rights. I have another thread explaining how Aadhaar violates Universal Declaration of Human Rights here

Since, #Aadhaar involves mandatory collection of biometric and demographic data, and its centralised storage, it essentially involves the question of #Privacy . Especially in country where there are no Data protection frameworks.
