Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Friday apologized after admitting he is one of two people in a decades-old yearbook photo wearing blackface and Klu Klux Klan robes during his time in medical school @Politico
“I am deeply sorry for the decision I made to appear as I did in this photo and for the hurt that decision caused then and now,” Northam said of the racist photo from the yearbook of Eastern Virginia Medical School, which he graduated from in 1984.
In his statement, Northam confirmed that he appears in the photo but did not identify which man he is.
Calling the image “clearly racist and offensive,” he said that he would work “to heal the damage this conduct has caused.”

It has never crossed my mind, ever, to do this. It never would. I don’t understand what would possess anyone to do something like this.
I wonder if Dems will say it’s okay because “it happened so long ago” (although they didn’t apply that ‘generosity’ to Kavanaugh-and their allegations are all baseless). But they may accept Northam’s apology, just as they accepted their much-loved KKK Sen Byrd’s apology.
