MSPs about to vote on the motion to set up parly inquiry on ScotGov's Salmond investigation - Tories and Labour both raising concerns about SNP chairing the inquiry committee, asking them to give up the chair to an opposition party
Labour say they put down an amendment to the Salmond inquiry motion, but it wasn't selected by the presiding officer. They want the government to withdraw the motion and come back with one proposing an opposition member as chair, or they'll vote against it.
Parly business minister Graeme Dey says SNP has put forward four "hugely experienced & respected parliamentarians" for the Salmond inquiry committee, and says putting forward Linda Fabiani for convenership should show its not a partisan position, as she's deputy presiding officer
So motion to set up the Salmond inquiry committee passes by 92 votes to 19 - Labour opposing because the SNP are set to chair it. This won't be the end of that particular row - expect it to come up again when the committee actually meets to elect a convener
