AGAIN, Warning: This thread is likely to trigger known social media ailments inc, but not limited to, faux outrage, mad Bros, gaslighting, and more. Those experiencing such will be ignored and/or laughed at.

Now, let's talk about how we're already fucking up 2020, part deux.

1/
Yesterday I explained why I believed our overcrowded candidate field for 2020 is not good thing. In this thread I will focus on what I think the candidates themselves are getting wrong.

Hold on to your hats kids, this might get a little bumpy.

2/
1. I belong to the largest and most dominant political coalition in the United States. And we are being ignored.

It is a real tragedy, because it signals that the candidates are either buying into the negative propaganda out there, or they lack confidence.

Neither is good.

3/
Dear @KamalaHarris, @CoryBooker, @ewarren, @SenGillibrand, & the rest,

Stop buying into the idea that the Russian story and Mueller's investigation are overplayed or that nobody cares about them. Republicans & their enablers are saying that because they know it's not true.

4/
If it was true then they wouldn't be complaining about it. It would be a net positive for them if we were out here complaining about things that annoyed people. Same goes for the far left. They need Russia to go away in order to push their fictional narratives.

5/
You know the ones I mean. The @HillaryClinton and @TheDemocrats screwed up and lost to Trump because they are awful and didn't care enough about white folks driving Grand Caravans or some such nonsense.

Remember you are running for the DEMOCRATIC nomination.

Be a Democrat.

6/
2016 was a stolen election that resulted in two stolen Supreme Court seats. Democrats know that and frankly want more people to start talking about it.

Now.

Acknowledging that Hillary Clinton was robbed will in no way delegitimatize your campaigns.

7/
In fact, it will strengthen them. Democrats standing up for other Democrats is something that happens to infrequently. Look at the power we had when #FiveWhiteGuys tried to take down @SpeakerPelosi. Democrats rallied, real Democrats. And we won.

8/
Have confidence in the truth.

Drown out the static.

And don't be thin-skinned when reacting to far left critiques. They've created a true echo chamber and almost no one seriously pays attention to what they say.

Like Trump's supporters, the messaging is for itself.

9/
Russia happened. 2016 happened.

Own it.
Get mad about it.

The country could use a little justified, righteous anger right now.

2. Put @BarackObama and @HillaryClinton's names back in your mouths. The Clinton/Obama coalition is precisely who you need to be taking to now.

10/
We have been ignored by the media for three and a half years. It would be a tragedy to also be ignored by the candidates asking us to let them add their names to that coalition.

Remember, @BarackObama and @HillaryClinton are beloved by actual Democrats.

Speak to us.

11/
It will endear you to Democratic voters to call @HillaryClinton #MadamPresident or to remind them what name ACA came to be popularly known by.

3. Do not let the far left bait the entire field into a race to see who is the most radically progressive.

Please.

12/
Remember, every word you say right now becomes a potential sound byte for the genersl elevation. Don't give them that. Again, drown out the interference. When @MMFlint announces that #AOC is the new party leader, we mostly laugh out loud, but we also see what they're doing.

13/
I promise you that Trump wants nothing more than to run against Bernie Sanders in 2020.

If there is one thing more unpopular than Trump in this country, it's the idea of us become a state governed by socialism.

Whether fairly or not, socialism is very unpopular.

14/
And Sanders could call it Democratic Socialism till they are blue in the face, but I guarantee you that Republicans, with some help from the media, would ask "If free healthcare & free college aren't socialism, what is?"

There would be much talk of slippery slopes.

15/
4. Do not be afraid of Donald Trump.

See everything Clinton did in 2016 and learn from it.

For all of the crap that woman took in 2016 she was actually pretty fearless and tres formidable. And guess what?

#SheWon

16/
Donald Trump is a liar.

Call him one.

Don't be concerned at all about alienating voters. Anyone who would criticize calling him what he is, was unreachable anyway.

You never had those votes and never will.

Forget them.

17/
5. Clinton supporters are some of the brightest, most talented, engaged, and influential on political Twitter.

It is just a fact.

Why do none of the campaigns reached out? We have been through the worst political battle in perhaps our entire history.

We saw it all.

Well, this has never happened to me before.

I finished this thread yesterday and yet it ends here, which means about 11 tweets are missing.

I can't find them anywhere.

Trying to recreate this is going to be unfun.

Thanks Twitter.

Apologies to those who were following along.
