This article raises good points about the corruption and brutality of the Islamic Republic but its call for a democratic revolution in Iran is somewhere between delusional and dangerous.

There is no alternative to the regime (inside or outside the country) that is legitimate enough with Iranians and strong enough to take over. The exiled opposition has not demonstrated its democratic credentials. The collapse of the regime would be followed by chaos not democracy
So supporting democratization in Iran? Yes in principle, and there are civil society movements in Iran deserving of external support. But *only* if the right actors are supported, lessons of past blunders are carefully learned, and all is done with humility and caution.
