The Natl Climate Asst has received over 800,000 web visits since its release on Black Friday. What chapters are people reading the most? It may surprise you! Here's the data. Read the report at: nca2018.globalchange.gov

"oh no," he replied. "Fixing climate change is a doddle in the park compared to terraforming Mars."
My undergrad degree + first 5 papers are in astrophysics so I was already a huge fan of Lord Rees' work; but after that i now love him even more because he is exactly right and he said it SO perfectly.

This report shows how #climatechange will affect every single one of our communities.

The president says outrageous things like climate change is a hoax engineered by the Chinese and raking forests will prevent catastrophic wildfires.
But serious consequences like collapsing coastal housing prices and trillions of dollars in stranded fossil fuel assets await us if we don’t act.

I keep telling my team that we're smarter together than we are as individuals, but this morning I decided to dig into the research on team smarts.

What are the attributes of effective teams?
Study 1.a
This study grouped ~700 people into teams of 2-5 and have them problems to solve.

The problems were varied in focus/needs (logical analysis, brainstorming, coordination, planning)

The smartest teams had three characteristics

1. Members contributed equally, no 1 or 2 people dominated

2. Members scored higher on tests involving reading emotional states from eyes

3. More women. Teams with more women performed better.

 Many news sites refer to Badwan as either a protestor or a demonstrator who was shot and killed by the #IDF. The photo on the left, from the DailyMail, states Badwan is a protestor. The photo on the right from CGTN states Badwan is a protestor as well.

 The problem is Badwan wasn’t there to protest in the way most people think. This video was taken Friday afternoon at the Karni crossing where Palestinians were clashing w/ #IDF soldiers. At the end, you can see Badwan being evacuated after getting shot by the #IDF.
