Trump saw SDNY's investigation as very problematic and thought Berman would be loyal b/c Trump hired him. So WH Don asked newly installed AG Whitaker to put Berman on Cohen case. Whitaker didn't b/c Berman had recused. Trump soured on Whitaker.
