Arrested Coast Guard terrorist is a fan of Breivik and Trump. The neo-Nazi’s long military career began as a Marine. “Guide my hate to make a lasting impression,” he wrote. His hate heightened against named Democrats and media as he worried about “illegal impeachment” of Trump.

.@McFaul's right. Russia's drumbeat of state propaganda w/ words "traitor" & "enemy" resulted in the assassination of Boris Nemtsov. A bullet to Russian democracy too. If Trump wants to use such incendiary language, he has to accept blame when incited fans like Hasson act on them

The Hasson story highlights the most dangerous strand of Trump embracing Putin's Russia. A racist white supremacist—on active duty in the US Coast Guard—was planning terrorist attacks, using Trump's language, acting on Trump's incitement, and swimming in toxic Russian propaganda.
“Civil war” is a Russian propaganda trope. It part of Putin’s autocratic playbook to discredit/silence dissent, along w/ words like “traitor,” “enemy” & “coup.” Trump has mainstreamed this anti-democratic language in our public discourse. Language of terrorists & Foxnews allies:
