By the end of @MBuhari’s 2nd Term, I firmly believe Nigerians would have come to take Infrastructure delivery for granted. That’s the goal.

We shout about it today because it’s a rarity (legacy of the PDPast) - by 2023, we will have come to take it for granted.

As we should.
Same applies to a Social Safety Net for the poorest & most vulnerable Nigerians. These are the long overdue programmes that should Quickly become part of the very fabric of national consciousness.

We must come to a place where we are able to take these basic things for granted.
We shout about Infrastructure & the completion of abandoned projects today so that our children will not have to shout about it tomorrow.

We expect a Nigeria in which it becomes the norm for politicians to complete unfinished projects. That was not the Nigeria Buhari met in 2015
We make noise about cleared pension arrears today so that in the nearest future it won’t even be a conversation topic.

Have you ever considered how bad things became that pensions could be owed for 10-20 years and no one cared?
That’s the country Buhari met in 2015.
I have seen some massive shifts in national thinking in the last 3 years, towards these ideas:

1. Pensions are a right,not a privilege
2. Unfinished projects should be completed, regardless of who started them
3. FG should work with States (regardless of party), not fight them.
4. Govts should work for the majority of the people - the Masses. Place them at center of governance & Policymaking. When Govt works for the masses it works for everybody

5. Considering our population & literacy levels, Agriculture offers the quickest route to mass prosperity
Of major subsidy/waiver regimes that Buhari Admin inherited,at least 2 greatly-abused ones —Fertilizer Sub & Rice Import Waivers —have been done away with

A 3rd (Petrol) has been converted from a free-for-all feeding trough for briefcase moguls into a cost-center on NNPC’s books
If you want to recall the cost of Rice Import Waivers under the PDP (now abolished by President Buhari), start here:
