A foreign observer asked if we have consciously tracked the population of Nigeria that suffers from mental illness and I humbly replied that no one suffers from mental illness in Nigeria...we all seem to enjoy it. But while in that mood let’s talk about #NigeriaDecides2019 👇🏽
Everyday we all come to Socialmedia, a drug that has managed our idiosyncrasies for years. We make a promise to ourselves daily that we will try and act normal and mentally stable but in the end after reading some dumb tweets we are back to our typical selves hurling jabs.
No matter how mendacious the media gets, no one can doubt the fact that this election was marred by draconian voter intimidation, voter suppression via militarization by thugs, security forces etc especially in areas of strength of the opposition parties (@OfficialPDPNig mostly).
The international observers would agree that a ruling party @OfficialAPCNg has no business hiring thugs or militarizing elections if they are assured of winning, especially when they control the security forces with a standing ‘shoot at sight order’ on ballot snatchers.
The media space is proliferated with a litany of soundbytes and videos of the violence across select states mostly opposition string points where election was free in areas of strength of the ruling party without thug interference or belligerence from security forces.
From the media we have learnt that in Rivers Electoral Officers are being held hostage under military captivity on the orders of ruling party chieftain. In Owerri (IMO) 10 collation Officers have been kidnapped & tormented to alter results. APC Thugs burnt votes in Lagos.
Even the @inecnigeria Chairman ordered the arrest of 3 INEC Electoral Officers for gross electoral offenses. But what is expected of any opposeion party in this perilous time, when we know that there are efforts to alter results at collation points via intimidation?
The solution is simple Distinguished, there is this powerful instrument called Form E60E. This result sheet shows the summation of the outcome of the election at each Polling units. Every Nigerian see the result upon completion on these forms.
The job of any political party agent is to record these numbers or take a snap shot of the signed records/result on the Form E60E. The PDP for example hired 177,000 Agents across 120,000 polling units and the process as captured in the INEC guideline is such that...
...collation moves from Polling Unit 👉🏽 Ward level 👉🏽 Collation Centre 👉🏽Senatorial 👉🏽 State before finally landing at the Situation Room. Now within the chain, anything can happen due to the militarization and intimidation due to desperation of known actors.
But instead of fighting over situation rooms, opposition parties are strongly advised to organize their Political Party agents and collate the results across LGAs and States based on the information on the Form E60E. If the total result is known as backed up by evidence...
...No form of intimidation can cause you the loss of an election even if your agents are chased out of collation centers and the results are altered. Your Mandate is secured if honestly collated with eveidence based on that strong record as witnessed by Nigerians.
If I am correct, INEC suggested or recommended parallel voter tabulation Centre for all agents which can even be achieved via WhatsApp groups. Collage these results as backed by photo evidence and upload it on your Political Party Website with confidence.
Delay defeat equity however, by now letter of complaints ought to have reached @inecnigeria with a compilation of issues. It is not the job of INEC to fight for political parties however obvious the issues are. They can’t act on what you are yet to complain about in writing.
For the seeming losses in a few states owing to voter disenfranchisement and intimidation, note that there are gains especially for the PDP in Oyo, Osun, Ondo without a doubt but what steps are party leaders taking to secure these perspicacious victory as alluded? 🤔
In simple terms, I am asking you what your Form E60E across Nigeria Are saying. If it guarantees you a win already please publish and let Nigeria prepare to back your claim with political will. In Abuja as well as Kano for example, over 300 people if not more couldn’t vote...
...these were mostly Igbos who didn’t see their names on the INEC registers even though their PVC accredited them successfully. I’m sure that many people will want to indict INEC for collusion but before your lawyers & SANs wear their gowns & wigs...Listen. 🧐
Long before election during the meeting with INEC political parties were asked for inputs on INEC Guidelines on this matter. The INEC Chairman specifically asked that can there be a clause that allows for people with PVC accreditation to vote even if not on the register?
This things do happen. President Goodluck Jonathan’s name was on the register but his PVC couldn’t be accredited upon the biometric check but he still voted. The inclusion of this clause could have solved these problem & ameliorated the level of disenfranchisement but...
...the political parties even the major ones rejected this recommendation & even started blackmailing the INEC Chairman over this and he summarily expunged it from the INEC Guidelines for the 2019 election. So, while we await the parties uploads on their websites, let’s be Calm.
Whatever crime is being committed against our democracy by desperadoes laying siege at collation centers, kidnapping Electoral officers and altering result will come to nought if we can collate transparently the actual E60E PU outcomes on LGA/State Basis. #NigeriaDecides2019
The intelligent people of the 177,000 Agents Of the PDP should take this as their task to save their party. The Form *EC 60 (E) is far more powerful than you know. Act now and act fast. Advise Nigerians and let’s raise the bar. This will reflect the true state of things.
