Lots of talk about Brexit and what Labour's manifesto said: THREAD.
So opening line of Brexit section was "Labour accepts the referendum result"
BUT second para starts: "We will end Theresa May’s reckless approach to Brexit" 1/n

We also said "We will scrap the Conservatives’ Brexit White Paper and replace it with fresh negotiating priorities that have a strong emphasis on retaining the benefits of the Single Market and the Customs Union ... essential for maintaining industries, jobs and businesses" 2/n

Hence why Labour is tabling an amendment setting out a credible alternative plan - as set out in our letter to the PM that sets out our "fresh negotiating priorities" 3/n

So our manifesto 1) accepted the result of the referendum; but 2) also said we found Tory Brexit proposals unacceptable; and 3) put forward the outline of an alternative 4/n

The manifesto also categorically ruled out backing 'no deal':
"Labour recognises that leaving the EU with ‘no deal’ is the worst possible deal for Britain and that it would do damage to our economy and trade. We will reject ‘no deal’ as a viable option" 5/n

So in summary Labour is respecting the referendum by putting forward a credible and negotiable plan (something the PM has failed to do in two and a half years) but will - in line with manifesto - oppose a bad Tory deal or 'no deal' 6/6
