(Thread) For all the media attention it is receiving, the opposition's attempts to oust Maduro have not gone well. Guaido was not embraced by the public. The Venezuelan military did not rebel as he called on them to.
The international community has largely backed Maduro and the Trump/Abrams gamble that the entire government edifice would crumble at their word has not come to pass.
The Red Cross and UN refused to legitimize the US' "humanitarian aid". Guaidó's international "humanitarian" concert was pretty much a flop. Their attempts to force aid through the border or provoke a military response failed. It has been a big PR blunder from the opposition
They have always overlooked the Venezuelan population as they see their real constituent as the US government.
The way back for VZ is a long one and will require good faith dialogue and negotiation on all sides. But with the Trump administration digging its heels in the situation will probably get worse, not better.
