1/ Another extended rumination on the SEC contempt proceeding. It supplements & amends my thinking from my thread on Friday, which is here.
2/ Sailing one's thoughts out for $TSLAQ evaluation is a humbling experience. But, also a valuable one. I commend to you the invaluable thread from @boriquagato from which I take but one brilliant piece here:
3/ I received many thoughtful criticisms. I'm sure I'll forget some of those who caused me to rethink the problem, but among them were @quirkyllama, @EdgarNights, @bgrahamdisciple, @demeteloaf, and @CassandraTSLAQ.
4/ Also, @MelaynaLokosky & @PlainSite forced me to focus on the precise chronology in the SEC's information requests and $TSLA's responses. So, a few things emerge:

1/ Okay, let's do it. A short thread on the request by Musk's attorneys to file a sur-reply in the contempt matter pending before Hon. U.S. District Court Judge Alison J. Nathan, SDNY. $TSLA
2/ Here's the letter making the request, filed last night:
3/ As explained yesterday, a sur-reply is atypical. The usual cadence is motion, response, and reply, so that the moving party (here, the SEC), which carries the burden, gets the last word.

1/ A few observations about the SEC's contempt motion. First, while both $TSLA and Musk were sued back in September, and both signed consent judgments, the SEC has filed its motion only against Musk.
2/ The SEC has until the end of the day tomorrow to file a reply brief. This follows the typical cadence of motion, response, reply. Sometimes a non-moving party will ask for a "sur-reply," but that's rare and disfavored.
3/ There's no hearing tomorrow. Just the electronic filing a brief that will likely be 10-15 pages or so. Then the parties have another week (until March 26) to advise the Court whether they want an evidentiary hearing.

27/ The SEC is in a difficult spot. In my lifetime, I have never witnessed a company and its CEO so brazenly defy the SEC's authority than Musk and $TSLA are doing here.
28/ This will be a fascinating drama to watch play out. So many wild cards. Elon Musk. The discretion vested in Hon. U.S. District Court Judge Natan. All the goings-on behind closed doors. The counsel being given to Murdoch, who has a lot to loose...

In November 2017 I had an idea to produce a masterclass series that would be watched for free by all and paid for by brands that care about educating and enriching people’s lives. I didn’t know any brand that wanted to come on, I wasn’t even looking.
I just knew that if I concentrated on doing a world standard job, the work would speak for itself.

Listen, that was a bit Naive.

January 2018, I went on a limb and bought equipment for shoot: Cameras, lights, etc. I was ready but only two instructors had agreed to do it.

Guess what budgets our dear overpaid #NASS led by @bukolasaraki choose to cut? Agriculture N11bn. HEALTH N8.05bn. EDUCATION N10.2bn. Works (roads included), Power and Housing N25.5bn. Science & Tech - N7.46bn. Water Resources - N12.95bn and more. Budget trackers went DEAF n BLIND

#thread on Friday I talked to Meina, a new member from the team.
She was telling me that in order to focus for a certain task when switching from another, it helped her to either meditate or play the guitar for 10 minutes, which I think is another way of meditation #thread 👇
She told me that sometimes she didn't do that, but lately, she was told to go do that by @emecibelli.
This is an example of great leadership IMHO.
A lot of times, managers push people to work nonstop not realizing that by doing that, they're making people be... 👇
... slower because they're not aware what their direct report really need to work better, happier and faster.
As leaders, we all need to listen and understands much more the people that work with us, because after all, a company is not more than a sum of people :).
