The collapse of the popular narrative on Jerusalem, the Golan, the embassy, the Israel-Sunni rapprochement et al should mean a complete root-and-branch reformation in American media and academia’s approach to the Mideast, built on the ruins of the ‘experts’ disastrous ignorance.
The people asked for comment on Israel-related news should change: any reporter who goes back to the same Rolodex as before is not interested in the truth or informing their audience. It is sheer propaganda.
One reason journalists are so angry about the Trump Israel moves is they revealed most reporting to be a lie stretching back decades. I see so many reporters who don’t understand the crisis of trust in their work that’s now broken out into the open. No hiding it.
To repeat: nothing less than fundamental reform of the way Israel is covered in American media should be accepted, and every outlet should be working toward that goal beginning right now.
