Now we know that most Republican Presidents support the NRA. But changed occurred around the assassination attempt on Reagan, almost killing press secretary James Brady. This in turn made activists of James and his wife Sarah which works result in the Brady Bill of Background
Checks. Reagan, a firm believer in the right to bear arms urged Congress to enact the Brady Bill. Around this time, there was a massive change in the direction of the #TheRepublican party, coincidence maybe, but the GOP began to blatantly be seen as the Guardians Of Privilege.
