"The BBC dropped its investigation... Arron Banks recounted the incident, claiming: 'Robbie Gibb is being quite helpful and says he’s trying to hose it down.'” channel4.com/news/revealed-…
Are Channel Four also paranoid conspiracy theorists, @RobBurl, or do you only defame those without a media platform to defend themselves?
I am also aware that the BBC started and then dropped a piece of investigatory journalism into collusion between Vote Leave and Darren Grimes. I have the emails in which they say exactly that.
The BBC at the stage they dropped their investigation had more information than caused @GoodLawProject to bring successful judicial review proceedings or, as I understand it, the Electoral Commisson to reopen its investigation.
The Electoral Commission then found Vote Leave had committed an offence in @GoodLawProject's Judicial Review. The High Court found Vote Leave had broken the law. Vote Leave dropped its appeal and so admits it broke the law. But the BBC wouldn't continue its investigation.
What we do know is that the BBC constantly gave platforms to the law breakers to smear the regulator - and never gave a platform to those who had forced the regulator to investigate.

Frankly, it's as fishy as Grimsby Docks on a Monday morning.
