Now the UK has seen Nora Mulready, she (and her type) we’re running Tottenham CLP when I joined in 2011.
The left took over in 2012/2013.
There is no magic spell. It’s infuriating hearing people say “yea but CLP meetings are boring”
You want fun? Go to a Comedy Club. Buy a trampoline.
The party owes you nothing, it’s not a service. It’s peer led, you don’t like the direction you’re being led in - then do something about it to change it.
Prior to the HDV, the fight was to Save Downhills. That joined a lot of people together. Find your thing.
I’ve met many lefties who have won positions and done sod all with it. What’s the point? You make it harder to retain. You’ll be the ones lefties want to move on.
It motivated not deflated me. These people were controlling the political power of my borough!
I’ve been subjected to some vile behaviour, doorknocking sessions cancelled as Nora attacked me in the street!
But then you remember why you do it. And you get on with it.
So yes, I’m in a strong left CLP - but we worked hard to get that and it wasn’t luck!
I won’t change the truth. You’re either ready or you’re not.
