A fascinating scenario starts to emerge when you play with these opinion poll numbers vs the 2014 results: both the LibDems and Change UK TIG start picking up a few MEPs. Why? Because they're above the threshold in many regions to get *1* MEP, and will never get 2 no matter what.

I have put together a guide to voting strategically "pro-Remain" in the upcoming 2019 European elections, based on the 2014 results. It's a pretty blunt analogue, because the picture was so different then, but absent detailed polls it's all we have...

It was never about northern seats, there was never a Labour "Jobs first #Brexit plan" and there was never any intention to be led by the members.

May has her personal Brexit she's tried to push through & ironically it's pretty much identical to Corbyn's Brexit

1) Why is Corbyn Pro #Brexit?
Because he wants to nationalise major industries, the so called "commanding heights", & needs Brexit, in particular hard Brexit, to do so

Which in turn means he's not at all bothered about economic hardship following that hard Brexit
2) I wrote this Blog 2 years ago and it was ridiculed at the time by Corbyn supporters who thought it was an unfounded smear attempt

Yet above Grace Blakely,
Labour policy forum member & economics commentator on New Statesman is saying exactly the same

Corbyn's position has little to do with Leave voting seats or respecting the referendum

2) here's lots of talk around how Corbyn could implement the Labour manifesto within the EU however this is missing the point IMHO. The manifesto is at best Corbyn-lite, he actually wants far more wide-ranging 1940s type nationalisation

This is what a "jobs first" #Brexit means
3) it's all there in Corbyn's past (at least if you can find it, a number of Corbyn anti EU articles appear to have been deleted)

Corbyn still believes in Nuclear disarmament, in a United Ireland and in a protectionist Seige Economy, one more reason for ending FoM

1) Let's put this in context:
To create "fairness" between a Polish worker & a Pakistani one, a Socialist MP agrees with the government on taking rights away from the Polish worker to get parity

Let's take some examples of this applied elsewhere
2) a male doing job X gets £20k, the equivalent female gets £14k - the response is to cut the male's salary by £6k

2 schools are get very different results, to fix this the highest performer has its funding cut

Cancer care in Region A is better than B, so A fires a consultant
3) this would be nonsense for a Labour government & yet Abbot is essentially celebrating the removal of rights from EU nationals to bring them to the same low level as Commonwealth ones

Is this what Labour stands for? Apparently it does because "fixing FoM" is a Labour Red line

1) This is the reality of #Brexit

Those on this side of the channel who think there's some fundamental difference between Tory Brexiters like Mogg & Labour ones like Corbyn are kidding themselves, they're all chasing exactly the same unicorns as far as the EU27 are concerned
2) Please have a read. It's a hard thread but it demonstrates why anyone, *anyone*, Tory or Labour, who tells you they can get a "better deal" on #Brexit is lying to themselves or you, and has a bad case of English exceptionalism

3) we, as a country, would never give France or Germany or any other country a better deal than the one we have ourselves, whether the nastiest right wingers or the cuddliest left wingers asked for it.

It's simply delusional to think 27 would do for us

It was the most important decision of our lives, the government made it clear that we already control our own borders and there would be tough new restrictions on access to our welfare system for new EU migrants. The government was clear we should stay in the EU.

This is the first mention of leaving the Single Market, not that 'we will' as Farage keeps saying, but leaving will create uncertainty & risk. The government made it clear being in the Single Market means more jobs which rather disagrees with Mr Corbyn's Jobs First #Brexit
