Manchin’s throwing out the idea that he’ll leave the Senate. To run for governor. The wave we expect in 2020 would be a perfect time to replace him with a real @SenateDems member. But his clique owns the whole WV Dem party operation. We’ll need some help.

I know some younger folks who’ve been entering, and winning, local Dem party elections. (Remember when WV’s 2016 platform was most progressive in nation?) But they are not strong enough to take control and support a real Dem here.
(I can’t myself run for office right now. Reasons. I would if I could, I assure you.)
I’ve lived here in WV for 15 years. (Why? Long story.) I know the lay of the land. Run someone similar to @ewarren here for Senate, with the policies and sincere wish to help the poor and middle class, and she would sweep so-called “ruby-red” WV.
But it will require out-of-state backing like @flippable_org (or similar orgs), because the WV Dem leadership is a hostage situation, not a way forward. They keep a cloud of dark torpor over the party, to help the coal/gas interests that are their funding source.
Any sincere observer could identify several ppl, already in state or local office, who would be ideal candidates to pick up a West Virginia Senate seat under a platform like Liz Warren’s.
