I'm not consulting for any campaigns. But if I were, I'd say make your whole digital operation voluntarily GDPR-compliant. And then campaign on a data rights for Americans. And win. Because it's one of the few bi-partisan issues out there.
Judging by the response to BERN today, seems fair to say that campaigns risk underestimating how badly Cambridge Analytica has poisoned the idea of voter analytics and targeting for everyone…except the true-believer trumpists. The new digital strategy needs to be built on TRUST.

What I’m realizing gets lost in my top tweet is that all presidential campaigns aren’t gonna be GDPR-compliant (voters who can access/delete/etc their own profiles built by campaigns with good consent).

Was more a remark on how Bernie tends to appreciates good European policy.
