I predicted this on social meda when Maduro appeared seated with the plotters and promised to investigate reports that something had happened like he was Leslie Nielsen in a cop role.
Putin's on the ropes and hopes to tie up the US in some kind of power sharing deal. Going for the knockout has risks and costs too, as does letting Vladimir slip out of the corner.
My prediction yesterday:
CNBC says: "As unrest continues in Venezuela, some analysts are questioning how much support Russia will give beleaguered President Nicolas Maduro and if Moscow could be ready to strike a deal with the U.S. to end the Latin American country’s political and humanitarian crisis."
