I don't see how you could read these heartbreaking replies and come to the conclusion that America's healthcare system just needs a few tweaks. I don't see how anyone could support politicians who prioritize insurance company profits over people's lives.

Reminder: Please keep an eye on which industries support which candidates, because no candidate with Big Oil's full backing is truly trying to save the planet, and no candidate with the insurance industry's full support is really trying to fix healthcare.

Really great thread on how the health insurance industry is now tapping billionaires to help prevent publicly provided healthcare under the guise of philanthropy.

Not all Democrats are the same, and this video couldn't make that any clearer. This segment should be required viewing for anyone who doesn't know the difference.
Warren explaining how the system gets corrupted should also be required viewing.

My way of knowing which candidate to support is going through this thread of stats and seeing who has the most specific solutions to each problem. I also suggest being curious about how each candidate is funded because it *will* affect their policies. xo.

Thread: I think people underestimate how dominant corporate money is in politics, and the extent to which it's drowning out constituents' voices. Corporate money in politics is to democracy what climate change is to the environment. Both need to be addressed with greater urgency.
The GOP has always been more openly cozy with corporations, but that relationship has gone from blatant quid pro quo to straight up giving the fox keys to the henhouse. Every government dept is now run by execs or lobbyists from the very industries they're supposed to oversee.
As comforting as the thought might be, corporate influence isn't exclusive to 1 party. This is why systemic change can only happen if politicians call out members of their own party too.

Example: Senator Warren calling out Dems for being too close to Citigroup bank back in 2014.

In round 2 of our PoW vs. PoS debate, we'll address another criticism of PoS:

In PoS, "the rich get richer!"
I call such claims "Trumpisms" -- not only b/c they appeal to populist sensibilities but more importantly b/c they're vague and non-specific.

We're all guilty of these -- like claiming "PoW is expensive" -- but they don't help us arrive at a meaningful truth.
Just as we attempted to dissect yesterday's claim that "PoS is not meritocratic", what's needed is to break this claim down into a clear question or scenario.

So let's do that.

The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.

20 *more* reasons I voted to leave for #Brexit.

1. The only people who get to influence the EU are those who support its aims and direction of travel. Everyone else is frozen out - even if elected to the Parliament. They are ringfenced.
2. It says it wants free and fair trade but the complexity of its own bureaucracy means it can always find ways within its labyrinth of rules to exclude produce for political reasons irrespective of international trade law.
3. Member states have no right of initiative in international organisations meaning that good ideas die in Brussels if one of the original six has an objection.
