1/ "Speak truth to stupid" (from the TV show Newsroom). There's science in that (a lot of it). Once you know the electorate demographics and break it down in categories, it's time to shape the *persuasive discourse*. (feel free to downlad)

2/ The demographic composition of your electorate is usually available on public statistics data organizations or other research institutes. You certainly know @pewresearch and @FiveThirtyEight (private).
3 / Once you go through this first step, which many people skip, it's time to understand their "attitudes and behaviors". This is within the field of study of *public opinion*, a sub-area of political science.

4/ Here is not a bad wikipedia entry: go to sources in the end

5/ The problem with major political elections is that:
- the electorate is extremely heterogeneous. It is not one population but several. Statistically speaking, it means (methodological) trouble;
- you must persuade segments with opposite opinions

6/ The prevalence of RWA (right-wing authoritarians) in North America is high. Like it or not, winning means taking them into consideration either by neutralizing them or fragmenting them (Herculean task):
theauthoritarians.org/Downloads/TheA…
7/ Please read this free online book by Bob Altemeyer. He wrote it for you and to help democracy. The scary part is that we can recognize RW authoritarian behavior among the left, the #resistance or whatever you want to call it. The permanent need for circle-jerk, for example.
8/ Also, the average American is quite unintelligent and the folks we need to persuade to vote in the direction in need in order to save the world from right wing catastrophe are there, among this sad average:
vox.com/2016/5/24/1172…
9/ the IQ is a controversial indicator and in my opinion it is only valid on the grand scale, like the BMI for the epidemiology of hunger and obesity. If you are reading this, your IQ is probably higher than 130, which is when we should stop measuring.
pdfs.semanticscholar.org/48d7/843f6ce71…
10/ I remember when the elementary school screened the children for the gifted program (ironically, to make teaching the less gifted more effective). As the child reached 130, other tests were applied. I was called to review all the other tests applied to my child.
11/ There were about 20 pretty normal kids in the group. Few people in my family had to take an IQ test. I didn't even know that < 130 was normal. Are we anomalies? No: the IQ is heavily determined by family educational status, that's all. healthline.com/health/average…
12/ Fundamentalists made sure, generation after generation, that the American electorate is predominantly unintelligent and is logically unskilled. That brings me to the first tweet. Elections mean:
- profiling candidates and choosing the best fit for the two major groups.
13/
- P should be chosen to control the largest "problematic" segment of the electorate. That would be the hesitant white middle class. And the best profile is Biden
- VP speaks to the second major segment. That would be the progressive @TheDemocrats base. Harris is a good pick.
14/ You see, I'm not talking about people (candidates). I'm not talking about "Joe", "Kamala", "Beto", "Pete" or whoever. I'm talking about *the right tool for the job* and the job is to *prevent the right wing from taking over the WORLD, starting with the USA*.
15/ The *job* starts by winning over Trump and neutralizing as much as possible the RW authoritarian power in American society. It's a long term project and an uphill battle but it starts with winning the 2020 election.
16/ The other day a self-proclaimed "everything" (resistance, interseccionalist feminist, LGBTQ, and - fake, of course - mathematician) replied to me that women of color with the determinant vote, so we were wrong. This is called "wishful thinking" or fiction.
17/ This is bad. Not "a little bad": VERY bad. If women of color were the predominant voting base, we'd be in paradise. Elections would require nothing special. The country would be safe and probably the world as well. Unfortunately, we'd need a couple more million women of color
18/ Instead of engaging in circle jerk, you would be effective digital activists for democracy (or the resistance, or the left, or whatever you want to call it) if you followed and RT *relevant content* from content-producing accounts:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
BTW: for mathematical reasons that I explain ad nausea on my wall, I don't follow back and I firmly reject the bad habit of "#FBRParty ": take a look at the guzanos (maggats) accounts. They do the same thing: that's their invention that you are copying, with the same result.
