In December of 2017, a poll found that 51% of Republicans thought Obama either definitely or probably was born in Kenya. Only 19% of Republicans could say with certainty that this definitely true thing is true. 
In July of 2018 a poll found that 50% of Republicans thought that the Russians either definitely did not interfere in the 2016 election or probably did not. Only 10% of Republicans thought Russia definitely sought to interfere in the election. vox.com/2018/7/19/1758…
The Republican media bubble is working its magic, and this to me is exhibit A-Z as to why Democratic politicians are fools to think they're going to lure a significant number of voters out of that GOP bubble to choose a Democratic candidate.
